A kind of update

Well, things are a little better... the weather is a bit chillier so its not 80 degrees every day...

Im gonna try to sum up the past week since i have a little time now...

Pardon any misspellings cause french keyboards are odd.

So someone stole the router to our dorm so weve had absolutely no internet. Now we have one but its not wifi and theres only one compy down here so its tough to find a time when nobodys on it. Right now im lucky. But i talked to Aude about it today and she's going to find out about it for me and help me talk to people in French because i have no internet lingo knowledge in French.

Ill be a lot better with internet.

As soon as I have ready internet or in the mornings, since this computer seems unoccupied around 10 my time, ill tell all about the plane ride, and the train ride, and the pictures I took and how my room looks and how french is going...

Right now Im going to say that its odd how stereotypes of France are often very true. its ridiculous the amount of people that carry around poodles and baguettes. you think im pulling your leg, but im not. they literally carry around baguettes.

Right now its 12h27 and its strange because all the little kids get out of school and their mother picks them up to have lunch together. Also, everything closes. And doesnt open until 14h, or like 2. I was going to go to Mim to get these shoes i want for only 19 Euro but theyre prolly closed. So i decided to blog for the first time in a while.

Hopefully there shall be some semblance of internet soon, or at least wifi access fom my laptop in the main school building if nothing else.

Today is Monday, and its cloudy. Ill prolly hit up 8 à Huit, which is like a 7 Eleven but it never closes mostly and ill grab some soup or something. Its real close. Other than possibly Mim and some wandering to find the scarf shop, i dont have anything to do today.

Tomorrow im free until 14h when I have to register, and then after that nothing.

Wednesday Im bored all day except Ill prolly go introduce myself to Marie Eve, which i should have done already but im a bad person. so sue me. Then theres a floor meeting in the evening. only its set at 7:50. 50? honestly, why not make it 8? It also seems silly for me to go as i wont understand a dang thing. Oh well.

Thursday is orientation whiwh starts at 14h30 and who knows how late that will go. But it'll be interesting at any rate and better than sitting around.

If anybody wants to send me things, even boxes, theyre ok to go to my dorm because the guardian will keep it and put a note in my mailbox so nothing happens to it. But i cant put my address up here firstly because i dont know it off hand and i didnt bring it down with me. But any mail is certainly welcome. Im working on finding stamps, so please be patient for your postcards. And if I promised you a postcard, please remind me so i dont forget!

Its odd... I actually feel better when I dont talk to my family because I can drown in self pity and then slap myself and get normal, but i fall to pieces when I talk to people I miss. Ah well.

heres the classes i want to take. HOpefully I can take them all... If not, Im screwed.

2 - Beginning Translation of English to French
3 - Intermediate Translation of French to English
2 - Introduction to Translation Studies
3 - Advanced French for International Students
1 credit - German Grammar
2 - Translation from German to French
3 - German Language and Literature
3 - Ancient Greece

The selection is super limited so its hard to pick any that look interesting. But Ill survive. Ive gone through worse things, im sure, and ill go through worse.

Well, Ill end this for now. Feel free to post questions and Ill answer them in subsequent posts. Pictures forthcoming when I actually get internet.
